Boys we love: Jens Moelle

Rapunzel & Pie are big suckers for rock stars. We realized that in Paris this summer. We went to a random gig where there was a band Clock n'Works playing and Rapunzel found herself droolling over the lead singer and I fell in love with the drummer and we decided we should make a list of our favourite boys. So, while waiting for one (preferably two) of them to marry us, we will introduce them all.

Jens Moelle. He is a (better) half of a German electro house duo Digitalism. I got familiar with their music via Kitsune maison compilations and loved it instantly. Their music is something you would hear on hard-core rave parties but they also have a softer, more melodic side which makes them perfect.

In November, we went to see their concert in Wien. And there he was-Jence. Seeing him pressing buttons on synth and singing made my heart skip a beat! Also, he made the most cute gesture I've ever seen. He had his arms stretched aside while singing and then he kind of waved with his fingers. It was so adorable. I wanted to find a video of it but it's nonexistent :( . Instead, I found an interview with him in five parts, which kind of made my day.

Anyway, here he is. My one and only.

With all my love, Pie

Out of the bubble

In the last few weeks, so many things have changed. Highschool was safe, known, comfortable. Holidays were fabulous. Uni is none of that.

I don’t like college life very much. You meet new people and you have coffees and lunches with them and you smalltalk until you’re tired of pointless conversations and just want to go home. And I am not even enjoying wearing violet fur or going over the top with accessories, because that makes you feel like an outcast, not fabulous at all, as there is no one there to appreciate it. Most of medicine students wear ugly sweaters from year '02 and sport shoes.

We do however, appreciate old friends even more now, and when we’re not educating, let it be economy or anatomy, we’re trying to maintain sanity by doing stuff that we like, say

...photography... I found my grandfather's Zorki-4 a while ago, but am still learning how to use it. As it doesn't have a light meter, and I don't have any knowledge of photography, most of the photos are blurry, underexposed, or not there at all. But I'm having lots of fun with it!

...dreamy songs... This one really fits my mood lately

...having a fur-and-dark-lipstick-wearing alter ego at night... oh yes, we are still Rapunzel&Pie, and fabulous too!
We recently attended a fashion show with a slovenian fashion blogger Eva Ana, who took the photo below. For more, check out her blog, all around eve.

Who needs uni anyway??

Vibes from the past

We are going to uni for the first time on Monday and a new era of our lives is about to begin. I like beginnings because they give you hope, excitement and motivation. Suddenly, you are found in a different situation, surrounded by new people in a new place. And this is good. But on the other hand, beginnings are also the final end of something. It is like saying goodbye to everything and everyone you knew before, because undoubtedly you are going to change and so will they. Which makes me sad a little bit. Just like Holden, the troubled teenager from The Catcher in the Rye, I would sometimes like to put certain things in big glass cases so that they would just stay the way they are. Ah. The lovely nostalgia.

Radical Face- All is well (Goodbye, goodbye). Sad, but beautiful.

John William Waterhouse- The Lady of Shalott. Gotta love the colours and her facial expression.

Vinna Laudico- Little Girl Blue. Fashion story with a dreamy atmosphere. Tiara, puppet and flowers.

Oh we so bad at this!

Writing blog, of course.

In our defence...We were extremely busy finishing high-school, having our finals and boring stuff like that. May and June were therefore spent in library where we were pitying our tragical destiny, because we had to study stuff like ''The main modern language reference books and modern linguistic norm in Slovene language'' and such, instead of playing ukulele and taking photos with Diana Mini. Ahhh. Life is tough.

But anyways, now everything is over and we are on holidays!

So here's a little bit of music for these lazy days when doing nothing at all. Quite a while ago I discovered this great French fashion label and also electronic music record label Kitsuné. I don't like their collections very much (too preppy and boring and not enough quirky for my taste) but I am very much into their music! Their compilations skew heavily toward the indie dance spectrum, which is kind of awesome. My goal is to have all Kitsune compilations in my possession someday. So far, I only have two (no.9 and no.11. Oh, gee 9/11. Wasn't on purpose, I swear) so feel free to buy me the rest of them. But anyway. Peace out folks, Pie is out. Heeere's the music:

WE ARE

My photo
Best friends who are quite bored all the time and whose greatness and awesomeness is being ignored by society. Besides that, they love glittery makeup, things that shine in the dark or randomly fly in space, analogue photography, kitsune maison compilations, cats, dogs, and of course, alpacas. C'est ça.
